If you’re looking to be more efficient in the kitchen, we’ve got a few appliances that will make cooking, grocery shopping and cleaning more productive in what is arguably the most important room in your home. Here are a few kitchen innovation ideas to get you started.

Smart Refrigerators

Smart fridges do it all with touch screens and cameras that allow you to see inside the fridge. At the grocery store and forget whether or not you need milk? Just pull out your smart phone and tap an app to check. These smart refrigerators also allow you to pick from a wide variety of recipes instantly.

  • LG InstaView – This refrigerator connects to Alexa and even allows you to play music, learn about the weather and shop on Amazon. The InstaView can also connect to Cortona for Windows users.
  • Samsung Family Hub 2.0 – While the Family Hub 2.0 does not connect to Alexa, it has its own built-in Samsung voice tech similar to Alexa. As a bonus, this smart fridge will automatically keep your water pitcher full inside.

Smart Pans

Smart Pans are fool-proof. With temperature sensors and recipe guides, you will be serving up a delicious dinner to any family or guests.

  • SmartyPans – The SmartyPans is complete with weight sensors that measure the ingredients as you add them, a temperature sensor that can track the cooking temperature and a rechargeable battery that only needs to be charged every four months.
  • Pantelligent – This pan allows you to pick a recipe and coaches you through the cooking process with a Siri-like plug in.

Smart Coffee Makers

These coffee makers give you complete control of your morning cup of joe! Prepare your grinds before bed and through your smart phone, you can tell the coffee maker when to have your coffee ready.

  • Orenda – This model allows you to control the size of your coffee grounds, temperature, coffee-to-water ratio and total dissolved coffee. It’s practically like having your own personal barista at home.
  • Nespresso Prodigio Expresso Maker – This product is made for expresso lovers in particular and also allows you to control your capsule stock from your phone so you never risk running out.

Smart Food Recycler

Kitchen food recyclers are not a novel idea, however the ZERA Food Recycler by Whirlpool is a one-of-a-kind product on the market.

  • ZERA Food Recycler – Turn your food scraps into ready-to-use fertilizer within 24 hours with ZERA. This product integrates composting into the kitchen and transforms almost all types of food waste into easy-to-spread fertilizer.
